Big Bend National Park

Big Bend is located in Far West Texas. It consists of mountain ranges and a dry desert environment. The park is a hiker's paradise due to its 150 miles of desert and mountain trail. There are four campgrounds in the Big Bend Park. The National Park Service operates three developed campgrounds that provides drinking water and restroom facilities. And, a full RV hookup camping area is also available.

  • The Chisos Basin campground is located in the center of the park in the Chisos Mountains. This campground is open year-around. Smaller RV's and trailors are accepted in this area. Charcoal fires in above-ground grill is allowed along with liquid-fuel stoves.

  • The Rio Grande Village campground is located near the Rio Grande on the east side of the park. This campground is open year-round. A charcoal fire in above-ground grill are allowed, along with liquid fuel stoves. The site is set in a grove of cottonwood and acacia trees. Available nearby to enjoy is birdwatching and hiking.

It is located between the Castolon Historic District, the scenic Santa Elena Canyon and the tall end of the Ross Maxwell Scenic Drive. A charcoal fire in above-ground grill are allowed, along with liquid fuel stoves. The site is set in a grove of cottonwood and acacia trees. Available nearby to enjoy is birdwatching and hiking.
